with specialization in Business and Organizational Psychology
A solid foundation of business management and a profound understanding of the employees and their behaviors are necessary for the success of any organization. Students will learn both skillsets in this Bachelor's degree. In this program, you will not only learn about the knowledge in business administration and management from the foundation course but also gain insight into how to cope with the psychological challenges in the workplace in this specialization.
The Bachelor is offered by three cooperating institutes of Steinbeis University: SMI, IEC and IOM.
You can attend almost all basic modules in the first year at SMI in Berlin, Munich or Stuttgart. You will complete your specialization and project work at the IEC and IOM in Berlin. Starting from May 2021, all IEC specialization modules will be delivered in an online and asynchronous method using the INSIDER Online Learning Tool, and in English instead of German.

Your self-study in this course
You will receive self-study materials at an early stage. You can use these to acquire the basic knowledge for each study subject based on your own time management style. In addition, there are exercises and analysis tasks with which you can optimally prepare yourself for the next in-class session.
Your Study Sessions and Study Locations
The study sessions, be it in-class or online, are compulsory in the Bachelor's program Business Administration.
The in-class sessions consist of four days each and take place approximately every 8-10 weeks. Here, you will dive deeper into what you have learned in your self-study and learn how to apply them to professional environments with the help of exemplary cases. Therefore, you will gain the advantage of being able to use your new knowledge in your everyday work immediately.
The online sessions are delivered asynchronously. This means, there will be no LIVE sessions for all the online modules. Instead, you will receive all of your learning materials and assignments via the INSIDER Online Learning Tool. This will allow you to have more flexibility and complete the modules at your own pace - although still within the set deadlines. Please click here for more detailed information on the INSIDER.
The Basic Modules in the Bachelor's program comprises about 75% of all in-class sessions and is available at all offered study locations. Only the subject specializations are restricted to selected study locations.
Your Innovation Project during your studies
During the bachelor's degree, you will commit to an innovation project of your choice, either together with 2-3 fellow students or alone. There are hardly any limits to the thematic possibilities. You will present the innovation project twice to fellow students and examiners during the course of your bachelor studies. In the first presentation, you will have to introduce your topic. The second presentation simulates a pitch situation for Managing Directors. In the end, you have to submit your innovation project in the form of a written paper consisting of 15-20 pages.
Your Transfer Project
You define - preferably in consultation with your company or project client - a project that you will work on during your part-time Bachelor's degree. In addition to the preparation of the topic, relevance to the company and practical orientation are essential evaluation criteria. From the analysis of the successful outcome, your transfer project will be documented in your student research project and Bachelor's thesis.
Your Student Research Project – Preparation for the Degree
The student research project works on the plan you have outlined in the first step. This is the scientific treatment of a company-relevant problem: a 30-page preliminary work of the Bachelor's thesis.
Your Thesis for the B.A. Business Administration
In the Bachelor's thesis, you will present concrete concepts, structures, strategies, and action recommendations for your company. It can also represent a further development from the student research project or the innovation project. Project coaches and a professor from the Steinbeis Institute will supervise your work. At the end of your studies, the work will be presented and defended.
Your Final Oral Examination
You will present your Bachelor's thesis of about 60-80 pages, followed by questions regarding your thesis and general knowledge, which concludes the oral examination. ab.
